"What's happening?"
She pressed a hand to her head. She could sense her power draining away. Her body began to drop toward the ground. Landing on both feet, she realized with alarm:
"My power it's gone!"
Yes, the strength she'd gained had vanished. She was back to where she was before. It's easy to get used to luxury, and hard to go back once you've had it. Now Fubuki was very much suffering from that predicament. After experiencing true power, she felt miserable having lost it so abruptly.
"What on earth is going on?"
Unaware that all she'd received was a "trial pass" for power, Fubuki decided she needed to track down Rei Ao for answers.
After a great deal of hassle, Fubuki finally circled back around by evening and found Erica and Michiruwho had come to this world along with her. Nearby were Lilith Asami and some others she faintly remembered, all standing in front of a house.
"Hey, do any of you know where Rei Ao is?"
"So you're back."
Erica gave her a quick once-over, then pointed at a standalone dorm for the Trinity Seven.
"Rei Ao's in there. You can go in and look for him."
"Ooh!"
Fubuki dashed inside without a second thought.
"Wait!!"
Michiru, Lilith Asami, and the others tried to stop her, but it was too late.
"Look, she just went in!"
Akio Fud sounded excited, as if she were expecting something entertaining. Lilith Asami glared at Erica with a furious blush.
"What's wrong with you? Why did you just let her go in?!"
"She was in a hurry to see Rei Ao; I only told her where he was."
Erica shrugged.
"But"
Lilith Asami's face flushed bright red. She couldn't quite say why she wanted to keep Fubuki out. Mira Yamana and Michiru were also red-faced and too embarrassed to explain.
Earlier, they had led Rei Ao around, showing him the sights of the Royal Book Academy. It wasn't a very large place, so they'd finished the tour quickly enough.
Afterward, Rei Ao, having extra time, decided to do some ratherimproper activities. Which led them here. This was Kasuga Hijiri's private dorm. Currently inside were four people: Rei Ao, Kasuga Hijiri, Selina, and Lieselotte.
In Rei Ao's words, he was "fulfilling a trade." In more everyday terms they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
The women had originally been in the apartment, too, but Rei Ao and the others were in the bedroom.
At first, no one knew what was going onbut soon, the noise coming from that room was impossible to ignore. Disturbed by the racket, the rest of them wound up fleeing outside.
Mira Yamana, stewing in mortification:
"Heaven Forbid!"
Lilith Asami, trembling with fury:
"Unforgivable!"
Akio Fud commented:
"They're really gutsy."
Levi Kazama and Erica remained relatively calm. In fact, Erica was busy with her own private thoughtslike how this Demon King, as powerful as a god-slayer, was clearly a lecher.
Of them all, Michiru felt the most conflicted. She had only read about Rei Ao's numerous relationships via the chat group and thought it was all just fantasy. Now, faced with this blatant reality, her mind was spinning; she wasn't even sure why she was standing there.
Kanna piped up innocently,
"Are they mating?"
"!!!"
Michiru hastily clapped a hand over Kanna's mouth.
"Kanna, don't say that out loud!"
"Ah!!!"
Suddenly, a sharp scream rang outFubuki's voice, coming from inside.

Chapter 437: Sitting atop of Rei Ao's Face...
"Ahhh!!!"
Fubuki ran screaming out of the dorm. She was met by the rest of the groupErica and the otherswho watched her with telling expressions. They already knew exactly what was going on inside.
"Wh-what on earth?! How could they belike that?!"
Fubuki, with no romantic experience whatsoever, was flustered and at a complete loss over the scene she'd just witnessed.
Erica peered at her curiously.
"So what are they doing in there now?"
"All four of themthey were on top of a table"
Halfway through her sentence, Fubuki just couldn't bring herself to elaborate. How was she supposed to describe such a sight?
"On a table? Wow, that'spretty intense."
Erica's cheeks turned faintly pink at the mental image. The others blushed even harder.
"Can someone please explain what's going on already?!"
Fubuki was on the verge of losing her mind. She had only been off flying for a little while, but by the time she came back, it was as if the entire world had changedplus, could humans really be that wild?
Erica stared at the dorm door with a meaningful look.
"It's nothing much. Just a free-spirited Demon King enjoying himself with his Demon Queens."
Inside
"Rei Ao-nii, th-that person just now"
"Selina, don't worry about her. Just lie down here."
"O-okay"
"Wow, Selina, I never noticed howmature you've gotten."
"Ugh, Sis, please don't tease me Ah!"
"Rei Ao-kun, what do I need to do?"
"Hijiri, justsit right here."
Evening rolled around, but Rei Ao and the others never emerged. Everyone outside was left speechless. They could only describe the situation as "utterly over the top." Standing out there felt both tiresome and awkward, so
"Since we're clearly not going to see them anytime soon, how about I take you all to a special bath to relax?" Akio Fud suggested.
"Yes, please!"
Lilith Asami was first to agree. She just couldn't stay there another second. The erotic atmosphere had her feeling hot and botheredsomething she absolutely hated.
Kanna noticed Michiru was still in a daze and tugged on her clothes.
"Michiru, what's a 'bathhouse'? Is it something you can eat?"
Michiru shook her head.
"No, it's somewhere you wash your body."
According to Akio, this special bathhouse was only accessible to the Trinity Seven. Before long, they arrived at a large bathing area full of steam and swirling mist.
"This is pretty fancy."
Erica had seen her share of upscale bathhouses, but this one looked good to her.
"It's the most luxurious bathhouse at the Royal Biblia Academy," Mira Yamana remarked, shooting her a glance.
"Haha, Boss, they do serve the Demon King, so they've probably seen way better," Akio teased.
"Hey, don't get so close!"
Feeling Akio's impressive chest press against her, Mirawho wasn't nearly as well-endowedflushed with embarrassment and annoyance.
"Wait, is there someone else in here?"
Wrapped in a bath towel, Fubuki suddenly spoke up. Peering through the dense steam, they indeed saw a figure seated at the edge of the bath. Stepping closer, they recognized her face.
"Kasuga Hijiri-san? What are you doing here?"
They recognized that face all too well as belonging to Kasuga Hijiri. Fubuki blurted out:
"Weren't you justumsitting on his face a minute ago?"
"???"
Her words caused everyone who caught the implication to jump in shock.
"Hm?"
The girl addressed as "Kasuga Hijiri" opened her eyes, frowning slightly in confusion.
"Who are you people?"
"Huh?"
Michiru stared in bewilderment. They'd just met her not long ago, so why did she act like she didn't know them?
"Something's off," Erica murmured, entirely nude and completely unbothered.
Kanna tugged on Michiru's towel and said quietly,
"Michiru, that's not the same person."
"Correct. This girl isn't Kasuga Hijiri," Reiya Kazama chimed in. "Her name is Arin Kannazukione of the Trinity Seven, and she looks very similar to Sei."
"Oh! So that's what's going on."
Michiru was still quite stunned by the uncanny resemblance.
"Splish!"
Arin suddenly stood up, water cascading from her glistening skin. That's when the onlookers realized she wasn't as short as Kasuga Hijiri and her figure was more developed. She walked right over and sniffed them curiously.
"Why do you smell like my husband's scent?"
"Husband?"
"Mhm. She's always calling herself the Demon King's wife," Mira Yamana sighed, rubbing her forehead. "She'sa bit odd."
Why are so many of the Trinity Seven around me such weirdos? Mira couldn't help grumbling internally.
"Wait, the Demon King's wife?"
Michiru's heart thumped.
"So she's Rei Ao's?"
"No! She is not!"
Lilith Asami suddenly cut Michiru off, shaking her head violently.
"We've never heard of any 'Demon King' or 'Rei Ao.' We don't know anything!"
Lilith wanted to prevent yet another person from falling into the trap of forbidden lust.
Arin's eyes lingered on them for a moment before she quietly sank back into the bath, as if none of this mattered. She didn't even question why Michiru and the others, who clearly weren't among the Trinity Seven, were here. Normally, Arin wasn't concerned about much.
Seeing her so indifferent, Lilith Asami breathed a sigh of relief and shot the others a look, warning them not to say anything more. They all got the hint.
After rinsing themselves off, they slipped into the large bath together.
"Phew"
They'd been through so much todaythe convict mage, the Demon King, that outrageous "romance." Lilith Asami and the others were exhausted in both body and mind, finally able to relax.
The one who'd taken the biggest mental hit, of course, was Michiru. She perched on the edge of the bath, holding Kanna's little feet, lost in thought. She tried to sort through the chaos in her head and realized it all came back to Rei Ao. He was the center of her confusionand the reason she now found herself experiencing a budding, undeniable fondness for him.

Michiru was still in a daze when
"Michiru, this bath feels so nice"
Kanna spoke up in that sweet, childlike voice of hers.
"Gulp."
Mira Yamana suddenly swallowed hard. Akio Fud, who was next to her, noticed. Following her line of sight, she saw that Mira was staring at Kanna with a look of longing. Akio's eyes darted as she sidled up to her friend and asked,
"Hey, Boss, don't tell me you've taken a liking to that little kid?"
"Ugh, I just think Kanna's really cute, that's all."
What's wrong with a girl liking cute things, especially an adorable little one? She was dying to pet that sweet child.
"Is that so?"
Akio suddenly grabbed Mira by the arm and waded over to Michiru.
"Hey, what are you doing?!"
Mira looked completely bewildered.
"Michiru-san, my friend here wants to spend a little time with this young one. Do you mind?"
"Kanna?"
Michiru blinked, then glanced down at Kanna in her arms. Kanna's eyes were big and round, not quite sure what was happening.
"If Kanna's okay with it"
"Great!"
Akio gave Mira a push.
"Boss, this is your chance. Go for it!"
"You"
Mira was in a tight spot now. Chewing on her lip, she asked,
"Kanna-chan, may I touch your hair? Just once?"

Kanna stared at her for a long moment, making sure there was no malice. Then she nodded.
"Okay."
"!!!"
Mira looked like she was about to jump for joy at Kanna's consent.
"I-I'm going in!"
She stretched out a trembling hand like she was about to do something momentous. The instant her fingertips grazed Kanna's little head, she was practically in rapturous bliss.
"S-sahsah!!"
Once she started petting, she couldn't stop. And since Kanna didn't resistin fact, she seemed to find it comfortableMira ended up scooping her up right out of Michiru's arms, going full "cat-petting mode."
Seeing her usually stoic friend turn into such a lovestruck mess around the "cute one," Akio just grinned.
"Now there's a side of the Boss I've never seen before."
She plopped down next to Michiru in the water and asked in a casual tone,
"So, you're a friend of Rei Ao or something? We figured you might be his subordinates, but you all don't seem like it."
Flicking an eye in their direction, Levi Kazama quietly closed her eyes again, as if she understood Akio was digging for information. Michiru also realized what was happening and chose her words carefully.
"Kanna and I are just Rei Ao-kun's friends. As for Erica-san and Fubuki-san, we only met them for the first time here."
"Right. I also only met Rei Ao just now," Erica added calmly.
"I see."
Akio's gaze flickered with curiosity. She didn't understand why a Demon King would bring along two people he'd just met if he was here on some agenda, but she knew better than to get hung up on it. Instead, she got to the main point.
"Michiru-san, since you're his friend, how much do you know about Rei Ao? Could you tell us? We have to treat him very seriouslyotherwise, our whole academy might get wiped off the map."
He was, after all, the Demon King. At her question, the bath fell silent. Even Mira, who was happily petting Kanna, paused. Lilith Asami also turned her gaze that way. The Demon King was something they absolutely could not ignoreher in particular.
"What kind of person Rei Ao-kun is"
Michiru fell quiet. She realized she couldn't sum up Rei Ao easily; he was always showing her new, unexpected sides. If she had to say something
"Rei Ao-kun is someone I don't dislike."
"That's it?"
"Mm."
""
"That's basically saying nothing at all!" Lilith Asami said, exasperated. "He's so shamelessly flirtatious andand messed up. Why wouldn't you dislike him?"
"Maybe because Rei Ao-kun is I guess 'special.' Haha"
Michiru gave an awkward laugh. Lilith Asami's assessment of him was pretty harshshe'd clearly pegged him as a total pervert. But Michiru understood that she was different from them. She was just a normal girl who shouldn't even have been in the same world as them.
Seeing that was all the response Michiru was going to give, Lilith Asami didn't push any further. She just quietly simmered in her own thoughts.
Over in the chat group:
Even while soaking in the bath, Fubuki was stewing over what was on her mind.
Fubuki: "@Rei Ao, hey, can you see my messages?"
Rei Ao: "Just spit it out. No need to feel me out first."
Fubuki: ""
Like I want to, you jerk. I'm just worried about interrupting your little 'fun.' She grumbled in her head, but typed:
Fubuki: "My powers got weaker again."
Rei Ao: "Oh."
