Chapter 481: Gains and Emeralda Etuva (Bonus Chapter)
Ramiris released the nine thousand survivors and three million Cursed Children from the labyrinth.
They have now all been transferred to this world, becoming its new residents, and will live here from now on, within Rei Ao's empire.

The girl's eyes went wide. The man apparently knew Emilia. She hesitated, unsure whether to reply it could be a trap. But then Rei Ao spoke again:
"You must be a friend of Emilia's on Ente Isla, yes? Let me introduce myself: I'm Rei Ao. Emilia's landlord in this world. I offered her shelter not too long ago."

The girl mulled it over in silence for a few moments, then responded:
"I'm Emeralda Etuva," she said. Actually, she was the royal court spellcaster of the Western Continent's Holy Saint Aire Empire, once captured by Demon General Lucifer.
She had encountered the Hero, Emilia, and become her companion, reputed as humanity's strongest spellcaster.
She was a petite figure with short, fluffy, curly green hair and matching green eyes, wearing grand robes dyed in bright red and orange, with the empire's crest embroidered in gold thread on the back. She was also familiar with Ente Isla's political climate.
"Rei Ao-san, we can't maintain this connection, and I don't know if I can trust you. But please warn Emiliadon't trust the Church!"

With that statement, the link broke.
"Being held under house arrest, maybe?" Rei Ao pinched his chin. He had some impression of Emilia's companions, plus he knew the Church of Ente Isla wasn't a good organization that sincerely cared for humanity.
That evening, when Emilia returned home from work, Rei Ao went to her room.
"Whatwhat are you doing?"
Emilia tensed up, seeing him step in. It was her first time letting a man into her private space; already having learned about Rei Ao's complicated web of relationships, she grew extra cautious.
"Nothing in particular, just wanted to tell you something."
Rei Ao casually sat beside her, so close that his arm and face brushed her body, making her entire form go taut. Then he spoke:
"Emeralda Etuva."

Emilia froze that was her companion's name! "How do you know that name?" she asked, suspicious.
"Earlier this afternoon, a woman calling herself Emeralda, your friend, tried to contact you by means of a magic device using this phone."
He handed her the phone, and Emilia accepted it in excitement. But no matter what she did, there was no reply. She could only ask Rei Ao, "Did she say anything?"
Rei Ao shook his head. "All she said was to warn you not to trust the Church nothing else. Probably, she couldn't sustain a long-distance, cross-world connection."

Emilia looked perplexed. Don't trust the Church? She couldn't begin to guess what that meant.
Knowing how abrupt that seemed, Rei Ao gave a wry smile. "I figure you're confused, so you should probably ask her in person."
"But I don't know how to contact Emeralda. I can't cast any spells without my holy power."
Emilia hung her head, sounding utterly dejected. She felt useless this way. At that, Rei Ao reached over, his right hand lightly tipping up Emilia's smooth chin:
"Actually, I can restore your holy power if you want."

Rei Ao's words reignited Emilia's hope. She was so excited that she forgot all about the intimate contact happening at that very moment.

At that moment, Emilia truly regretted not figuring out earlier what "mana supplementation" involved. And yet

Emilia badly wanted to retort, 'Who has such a perverted and shameless habit?!' But considering how Rei Ao carried on day after day with Mai and the others, she found it hard to argue.
"I do apologize for that unintentional move," Rei Ao said honestly. "If you don't mind, you can go ahead and feel me up in return."

Emilia's face was as red as an apple, and she ground out, "Also, youjust nowwhy did you do that?! Aren't you afraid I'll tell Mai and the others?"

Rei Ao shrugged. "That's mana supplementation. Through an exchange of bodily fluids, magic power can be transmitted quickly. Besides kissing, there are moreeffective waysbut I'm guessing you wouldn't go along with those."

Emilia felt like killing him.
"So why did you think kissing me was something I'd go along with, then?!"
"Well, you did go along with it," Rei Ao said with perfect composure. "And you were quite enthusiastic."
"Butbut your technique was so clumsy, especially how you Actually, never mind."
"Anyway, your technique was rather amateurespecially in terms of your tongue's finesse. If you'd like, I could teach you"
"Idiot! Who'd want to learn that kind of stuff?!"
At the height of embarrassment, Emilia threw a pillow straight at Rei Ao. She absolutely refused to admit it felt good.
Catching the pillow, Rei Ao sighed. "All right. Anyway, if you ever want more mana supplementation, come find me anytime."
"Who would want that?!"
She glared daggers at him. But she decided not to dwell on it. One, because even if she told him off, it wouldn't do anythingshe couldn't possibly beat him.
Two, telling Mai and the others probably wouldn't help, either. In Emilia's eyes, Tohru and the rest were already so spellbound by Rei Ao.
And, most crucially, she was using this angry display to disguise her racing heart. She could fool other people, but not herself. That kiss had set her heart hammering, and her body washappy. Because the partner was Rei Ao.
She couldn't lie to herself: she didn't hate him. In fact, after everything that had happened, she'd developed an unwilling fondness toward him.
Precisely that was why she'd gotten completely lost in a single kiss. And also why, even though his hand had brazenly roamed the most private part of her body, she hadn't drawn her sword to slash this big pervert.
Still shooting Rei Ao a fierce glare to hide her guilty conscience, Emilia tried using the Holy Power to contact Emeraldaonly to discover it wasn't enough?!
Rei Ao's lips curved into a smirk. "Well, you did break off the 'mana supplementation' on your own. Not my fault."
"Soshall we keep going?"

Emilia was on the verge of homicide.
"Fine!"
Clenching her fists, she snapped angrily, "Let's keep going! Why not?!"
Might as well dive in headfirst. Grabbing Rei Ao's collar, she yanked him over and kissed him forcefully. It looked pretty assertive, but all of that was just a front. Soon enough, Rei Ao's skill reduced her to pliancy, melting into him.
Minutes later, Emilia's face was a bright shade of red as she hurried to wipe her mouth and tidy up her wholly disheveled blouse.
"Hmph, sorry, but my hands have this ingrained habit."
He really was telling the truth. His hands were so addicted to big chests, medium chests, even smaller oneshe never let them go. He must've formed some truly awful habits.
"Enough, don't say another word!!!"
Emilia, half-livid, half-mortified, shouted. She didn't want to continue that topic. Because this time, she hadn't stopped him from doing that. So her upper body had been completely taken over by Rei Ao.
Things nearly went past the point of no return. Had it not been for being filled up with Holy Power, Emilia might not have found the chance to halt him. She dared not imagine the consequences.
Wellon the surface, she was furious. Inwardly, however, Emilia felt a slight tinge of regret. That tiny itch of "so close" was aggravating. The kissing felt good. Being touched felt good. So what about going deeper?
Was that the reason Mai and the others loved it so much?
