Raphiel, hiding in the closet, gazed out with a hollow expression.
She had just witnessed, with her own eyes, Gabriel falling into an endless abyss.
And what's moreshe had viewed the entire process of Gabriel's downfall without missing a single detail.

Ayase found Tsugumi's behavior odd.
"What did you see?"
"N-nothing at all!"
Tsugumi stammered.
"Is that so?"
Ayase grew even more suspicious.
"It is! Honestly!"
"Then why's your body temperature so high?"
"That's because I ran back, obviously. It's hot! Yes, that's all!"

Realizing she was lying, Ayase, however, didn't press further. If it wasn't a thief, it likely wasn't a problem.
In truth, Tsugumi was dying of shame. She had just gone out and seen Inori, Arisa, Mana, and Hare in the living room alltogether

"Go away!"
Early in the morning, Gabriel practically shoved Rei Ao out the door, her face so flushed she couldn't even lift her head to meet his eyes.

"I don't want to see you today!!"
Gabriel was practically wanting to die of shame. She'd actually donethat with a humanugh!
"Well, I'll wait at home till you feel like seeing me."
Rei Ao, calm as ever, finished getting dressed. Angels truly were verymoist, after all. And watching four beauties do a little demonstration with their roses using that "angel brand" cup was also rather moist. He'd not only fully enjoyed himself but made a handsome "profit" in the transaction.
Turning around, he spotted Raphiel standing at the end of the hallway. Just as he was about to greet her, Raphiel's face grew scarlet, and she darted into her bedroom.

Seeing Rei Ao in person again, Michiru found it impossible to reconcile the calm, handsome boy before her with that cosmic red dragon who obliterated a world.
Rei Ao, of course, noticed her guarded manner and smiled softly:
"Come on now, there's no need to stare at me like we're strangers."
"Michiru's probably spooked after what you did in that world with Aihara Enju."
Katou Megumi was also present. She shrugged.
"My older sister was scared stiff, too. She was so frightened she ran into my room in the middle of the night and insisted on sharing the bed. As for me yes, it was shocking to see Rei Ao's power, but I can't help feeling a bit proud instead."

Her expedition to the "Black Bullet" world had tremendously boosted her power; at present, she was level 20already a formidable existence. Consequently, she was unruffled about many things.
Rei Ao somewhat regretted it, though. The calmer Megumi was, the fewer chances he had to see her rare but adorable emotional reactions. He had little doubt that if he advanced on her even now, she'd maintain a cool face while letting him do as he pleased. A pity, in its own way.
Returning to Michiru:
"I'm sorry I just don't know how to cope with seeing something like that happen," she said, looking forlorn. "I'm just an ordinary person"
"You could always stop being an ordinary person," Megumi interjected.

Even Rei Ao looked a bit stunned by that remarkwhy did she bring that up all of a sudden?
Yet Megumi cast him a reassuring glance, as if saying, "Let me handle this."
"Not an ordinary person anymore?" Michiru repeated blankly.
"Yes," Megumi replied. "I've been thinking about how you mentioned you're the one looking after Kanna. But how can an ordinary human fully look after a dragon, even if it's only a young dragon?"
Megumi was speaking calmly, but the content was undeniably pointed. For instance, children of any species like to play, but how do you 'play' with a creature whose simplest "kid-level horsing around" might crumble entire buildings?
A large predator's playful bites and claws are fatal to humansmuch less a dragon, which is far stronger than any beast. So a dragon that coexists with humans inevitably has to keep a heavy lid on its innate nature. Is that truly good for the dragon?
Rei Ao nodded: "True enough, the way Tohru chooses to 'restrain' herself is exactly that. She's mindful not to harm or terrify the humans around her."
Megumi then said: "Meaning if Kanna always has to hold back for the sake of her human caretaker's weakness, eventually that's going to harm her well-being."
Michiru pursed her lips, silent. She thought of Kanna and realized the little dragon might be perpetually worrying about her caretaker's fragility, which in turn meant Kanna was constantly stifling her dragon instincts. Was that fair?
"Therefore," Megumi summed up, "If you want to be with Kanna long termand look after her properlyjust being normal isn't going to cut it."
Michiru wanted to protest, but the words died in her throat. She couldn't muster any plausible rebuttal. After all, it was a fair argument.
Finally, she exhaled, dejected. "Does that mean I really can't take care of Kanna?"
She cherished the miraculous bond she'd formed with Kanna. She didn't want that bond severed because she wasn't up to the task.
Megumi offered a spark of hope: "There is a way."
"?"
Michiru blinked.
"I used to be ordinary, too," Megumi continued softly. "So were many in the group chat. We all owe it to Rei Ao's help that we gained these special powers."
"..."
Michiru's gaze flicked down.
She indeed remembered how many girls in the chat had once been normal, then grown in power thanks to Rei Ao. But
"But you and the others you guys all had some special well, connections with him." She trailed off, evidently implying that her own situation was different.

Rei Ao and Megumi Kato exchanged glances, both smiling in amusement.
Of course there were differences, yet they also had things in commonnamely, they were both members of the chat group.
