Chapter 535: Evil Spirit Possession? (Bonus Chapter)

Two bright, clear voices rang out from the entranceway. The ones who came to visit Rei Ao's home were none other than Fumino Furuhashi and Rizu Ogata. They arrived with excitement, but the moment they reached the living room, they froze awkwardly.
That was because they saw Ms. Mafuyu Kirisu sitting on Rei Ao's lap.

Mafuyu jumped to her feet in alarm, fanning her flushed face and darting her eyes around.

Fumino and Rizu each twitched at the corner of their eye.
They realized they'd just walked in on Mafuyu and Rei Ao's affectionate moment.

"You two came? Mai and the others said your exam results improved a lot."
Rei Ao gave an unfazed look toward the flustered Mafuyu, then turned the conversation to Fumino and Rizu.

Mafuyu was visibly pleased.

Ilia glanced at Rei Ao.

Ilia took the gift with a nod. Fumino and Rizu both smiled happily. Then they each took out gifts for Rei Ao and Mafuyu as well.
"We wouldn't have achieved such progress if not for Mafuyu-sensei and Rei Ao-kun helping us. Truly, thank you so much!"
They understood their abilities well, and how much these people had aided them.
"Congratulations, Fumino, Rizu. You're one step closer to realizing your dreams," Mafuyu said, adjusting her glasses. She was genuinely happy they wouldn't end up stuck like she once was.
"Hehe, Mafuyu-sensei, we're still a long way off," Fumino replied shyly, scratching the back of her head.
"Exactly. Compared to Rei Ao-kun, we're nowhere near," Rizu said, pushing her glasses.
"You don't need to compare yourselves to him," Mafuyu said wryly.
She knew full well Rei Ao was beyond normal comparison, whether in learning capacity or initiativeor, embarrassingly enough, in other areas. Matching up to him was pointless. She didn't want these two students, who had just made good progress, to get discouraged.
But Rizu, understanding Mafuyu's concern, shook her head.
"Mafuyu-sensei, we don't intend to compete with Rei Ao-kun. We're just using him as one of our goals to strive toward."
"That's fine, then."
After wrapping up the talk about the test results, the mood turned slightly awkward again. Mafuyu could feel Fumino and Rizu's gazes occasionally flitting to her, reminding her that the relationship with Rei Ao was now out in the open. She felt unbelievably embarrassed.
"Um, I I just remembered something at home. I'll go on ahead," she said, tossing out a random excuse. She wanted to flee from this needle-prick tension.
Yet Rei Ao grabbed her hand.

She turned, puzzled. A shy, nervous glint showed in her eyes. No way was he going to do something again? She thought of his strong, vigorous body, and her knees couldn't help trembling.
Sensing her anxiety, Rei Ao's expression turned wry. She's imagining things even more than I do, he mused. But his reason for stopping her had nothing to do with that.
"I've got a chance to take you to another world for a look," he said.
A few minutes earlier, in the chat group
Miko Yotsuya: "Guys, help me think of a solution!"
Miko suddenly posted in the group, asking for help.
Stella: "Miko, did something happen again?"
Megumi Kato: "Probably something related to evil spirits?"
Miko Yotsuya: "Hmph, it's related but not directly. Right now, Mom, Hana, and I are no longer afraid of evil spirits. We have Rei Ao-nii's blessing plus protective charms that can destroy them."

Rei Ao gently took her hand, disregarding Fumino and Rizu's dumbfounded expressions, and pressed his lips to hers. Mafuyu didn't even resist, sinking into that intense affection.
"Mm, I want to go with you."
She gathered her courage, eyes full of deep attachment.

Fumino and Rizu gaped, their mouths falling open. They had never seen Ms. Mafuyu solovey-dovey.
Seeing Mafuyu so clingy, Rei Ao was in a great mood.
"Oh, by the wayare you two interested?"
He glanced at Fumino and Rizu, whounlike Mafuyuhe hadn't yet "captured." Maybe they'd also want to tag along.

Both blinked. Fumino was about to shake her head when Rizu quickly spoke first:

Fumino froze, baffled by Rizu's thoughts. Turning, she found that determined face on her friend.
Rizu repeated, "I want to go. I want to see what these evil spirits are like!"
Her motivation dated back to that previous unique otherworld experience, which lingered in her memory. Every time she closed her eyes, she'd recall the strange elves, terrifying monsters, the beautiful Feathered Serpent God, and Rei Ao who had rescued her.
Without a doubt, those experiences had left a vivid impression in her heart. Additionally, seeing all that transpired in the chat group further piqued her curiosity about other worlds.
"All right, Rizu, get ready," Rei Ao said. Then, turning to Fumino:
"Fumino, what about you?"

Hesitant, she looked uncertain, feeling strongly that this choice might lead her down a very different life path. For a moment, she couldn't decide. Rei Ao didn't rush her, quietly waiting for her answer.
After a while, Fumino glanced from Mafuyu to Rizu, and something clicked. She gave a firm nod:
"I also want to have a look."
Rei Ao grinned, hearing the answer he wanted.
"Then let's go."
At Miko's House.
"Miko, one of your friends is here for you,"
Touko Yotsuya called.
Standing next to her, out of breath, was Hana Yurikawa, who added, "Auntie, I'll go to Miko's room myself!" She then hurried off, skillfully heading straight for Miko's room.
Watching that, Touko broke into a gentle smile.
"Miko's really found a wonderful friend."
"Miko! I'm here!!!"
Hana barged into Miko's room.
"Hana? Why'd you come over at this hour?"
Miko looked surprised at Hana's visit.
"Hmph!"
Hana straightened up, lips in a little pout.
"Miko, I heard you're meeting Rei Ao-niibut you didn't tell me in advance!"
"Uh"
So that was it.
"Sorry, I didn't even know Rei Ao-nii was coming myself," Miko said, scratching her head apologetically.
"Well, all right. I know you didn't mean it."
Hana smiled again, looking around eagerly.
"When's Rei Ao-nii showing up?"
"Hana, do you miss me that much?"
A voice sounded from behind them.
"!!!"
Hana jumped, but then spun around and latched onto hima firm hug around Rei Ao's waist.
"Heehee, Rei Ao-nii, Hana reeeally, reeeally missed you!"
Giggling, she pressed her face to Rei Ao, snuggling and nuzzling him, and under the astonished eyes of Fumino, Rizu, and Mafuyu, Hana tilted her head up and planted a kiss directly on Rei Ao's lips.

"Rei Ao, who are they?"
Mafuyu Kirisu looked at Miko Yotsuya and Hana Yurikawa, each leaning softly against Rei Ao on either side, momentarily at a loss for words. She knew Rei Ao had many "little girlfriends," but seeing them like this in front of her was still strangely disconcerting.
It was even more awkward for Fumino Furuhashi and Rizu Ogata.
"Allow me to introduce: this is Miko Yotsuya, and this is Hana Yurikawa."
"Mm, just call me Miko."

Hearing that from Rei Ao, she began wanting to back out. She definitely didn't want a scenario where she peed herself in front of everyone!

It was because in front of them stood a bizarre beingdeformed, multi-limbed, multi-eyed, shrouded in oppressive black auramuttering like a curse:
